Although threatening skies tried to wash out CyclePalooza at Palm Beach International Raceway mother nature did not win and racing got underway around 2 p.m. Sunday.
Joey Sternotti was the star of the popular Top Fuel class all weekend grabbing the win under the lights at the PBIR drag strip with a 6.309 ET (elapsed time) at 225.52 mph over Mike Farnella's 7.066 at 186.98. Sternotti, on a 2010 Nitro Harley, ran his best time of the day in the first round with a 6.219 at 228.23 mph.
In the Super Comp class, Gary Russell of Englewood, Fla. took home the trophy with a 9.035 ET at 129.90 mph. Ralph Medrano Jr. of Miami, Fla. ran a 8.344 ET at 147.44 mph to earn top honors in the Top Gas class.
Chris Sansevere of Palm City, Fla. ran 9.511 ET at 139.52 mph to win in the V-Twin Street Bike class. In the V-Rods class, Michael Brams of Palm Beach Gardens, FL went unopposed and ran a 9.729 ET at 129.98 mph.
In the Harley Davidson Bike class Randy Mackail out of Jupiter, Fla. went 123.52 mph to run a 10.515 ET and capture the win. Scott Delong of Boynton Beach, Fla. took home the top honors in the Pro Bike class, running an 8.685 ET at 148.61 mph. Keith Bozenbury out of Port St. Lucie, Fla. prevailed in the Street Bike class with a 12.006 ET at 108.68 mph.
Tim Hunt took the track by storm in the Scooter class, beating out Scott Delong with a 19.951 ET at 32.60 mph. |
