When rising country star Josh Thompson arrived at Palm Beach International Raceway on Saturday, November 27 he expected to get a thrill on stage, a place he’s used to being. But Driven 2 Win Drag Racing School and Palm Beach International Raceway put Thompson in the two-seat dragster and he got a thrill of a different kind.

Used to going out on stage nearly every night, Thompson knows an adrenaline rush when stepping out on stage. But he got one of a different kind as he was strapped in to the dragster and took to PBIR’s quarter-mile, all-concrete drag strip.

Thompson went down PBIR’s drag strip as a passenger at more than 150 mph. “That was fast” was all Thompson could say as he climbed out of the dragster. Just minutes later, Thompson stepped out on stage and put on his show.

Thompson, whose current single “Way Out Here” is steadily climbing the country charts. His songs include “Beer on the Table,” “Won’t Be Lonely Long,” and “Blame it on Waylon”. He’s had two top-twenty country hits and recently been on tour with Brad Paisley and Hank Williams, Jr.
