
For the last race of the year, racers will test metal against mettle battling for bragging rights and thousands of dollars in cash prizes. Race classes include Pro Mod, Quick 16 Dragster, Quick 16 Door Car, Super Street 10.90 Index, Top Eliminator/Box, Super Gas, Super Comp, Street Bike and the Junior Dragster Turkey Day slam.
The holiday will spark rivalry amongst the Pro Modified class, known as the “world’s fastest door slammers,” where racers will compete for $3,000 in first place. The Pro Modified class is one of drag racing’s most popular divisions with large engines propelling the cars to quarter-mile speeds of over 240-mph with sub six-second times. Engines in the class are diverse with supercharged, nitrous-assisted or turbocharger power plants.

Palm Beach International Raceway will burn the turkey at the Citrus Nationals’ fan favorite exhibition “Pro Show”. The show feature wheel standers and jet dragsters race side-by-side on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. & 4 p.m. With a full line up for the weekend, the Chevy Rebellion Wheelstander will race the quarter-mile strip on two wheels.
This year’s Pro Show’s features the Embry Riddle jet cars, thrust powered monsters spitting fire, hammering burner pops and thundering to high speeds down the track. Elaine Larson and Marisha Falk, of Larson Motorsports, will strap themselves into these missiles that belch fire and smoke in the Embry Riddle jet dragsters, capable of reaching speeds of 300 mph in just five seconds. The fire breathing monster boasts 5000 horsepower and goes from 0-100 mph in one second burning two gallons of jet and bio fuel every second.

In the spirit of the holiday season, Palm Beach International Raceway will be accepting toy donations at Citrus Nationals to Urban Youth Impact. The organization will be donating these toys to underprivileged children and families.
