The 6 Hours of Nürburgring is one of the most prestigious sportscar races in all of Germany, second only to the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Lewis will lead to the Gotz Audi Team racing Gotz Motorsport’s all wheel drive and V-8 turbo, Audi RS-4. Lewis drove the same vehicle back in June in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring.
Overall, Lewis has raced at Germany’s renowned Nürburgring in five 24 Hours of Nürburgring (2004, ’05, ’10, ’11, ‘12) and two Nürburgring Six Hours (’09, ’10) as well as the American Le Mans Series race on the Grand Prix Course (’00). He has earned several podium finishes making him one of America’s most successful drivers at the circuit.
The 15.753-mile long course at Nürburgring with 73 turns is well-known as the most difficult circuit in motorsport. It takes skill and bravery to master the track to finish on the podium. This Saturday, Lewis and his team will test metal against mettle to secure the first place win.
In addition to his racing career at Nürburgring, Lewis has earned several prominent titles in the American Le Mans Series and Grand-AM Rolex Series. In 2010, he raced to runner-up in the ALMS GTC Championship. Lewis has driven in over thirty 24-hour races including three 24 hours of Le Mans (leading GT class in 2003), 14 Rolex 24 at Daytona and five 24 hours of Nürburgring. He has raced every major class of sports car in every major international series.
Lewis’ record has driven him to continue his driving passion as the professional driver and instructor of the Palm Beach Driving Club at Palm Beach International Raceway. He provides one-on-one instruction to members of all driving levels who bring their street cars out to race on Palm Beach International Raceway’s road course.
