Palm Beach International Raceway Announces Reopening

Monday, June 1, 2020
JUPITER, Fla.- Palm Beach International Raceway (PBIR) announces the reopening of the multi-purpose facility.  During the initial reopening phase and to prevent the spread of COVID-19, PBIR has various restrictions in place for the health of safety of competitors and crews.
Restrictions in place during the initial reopening phase are as follows:
•Events will only be open to participants and their crew members.  For the time being, no spectators will be allowed to attend any of our events
•All event participants and their crew members must wear a facemask while entering the property and contactless forehead temperature checks will be required prior to entry
•Facemasks must be worn any time there is a gathering of people closer than 6’ from each other and interacting with PBIR employees
Outside of these situations, facemasks are recommended but optional at each person’s discretion. PBIR is committed to safety to allow us to get back to what we do best, providing the safest and most competitive racing experience in the area.
“Wearing safety equipment has always been part of our sport.  Adding a face mask to your safety gear shows the racing community that we care about those of us in our society who may be at greater health risk caused by the virus,” said Palm Beach International Raceway General Manager Bobby Carville.  “It is important we get our businesses open and our people back to work but being safe and socially responsible is equally important.  There is no reason we can’t do both at the same time.”
The first drag strip event will be an open Test and Tune scheduled for this Friday, June 5.  Hooked on Driving will mark the reopening of PBIR’s road course on Saturday, June 6.
