JUPITER, Fla. - Palm Beach International Raceway joined Kwick Rick Racing Productions in presenting Old School Outlaw Racing on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009.
The race was the ultimate outlaw match between all makes and models of drag racing cars. 194 entries took to the drag strip with 4,000-plus spectators cheering the participants to the ¼-mile. Different categories of competition included: The Hot Match, "Winner Takes All," The Best Reaction Time Challenge and The Bangie Shootout.
Entrants came to the all-concrete strip from as far as North Carolina and featured the Roc, a South Carolina drag racer. Other special events included a car & bike show, judging contestants on best look and best sound system. The festive atmosphere integrated all types of vendors, cooking up barbeque to conch fritters.
Old School Outlaws will return to Palm Beach International Raceway for two-day events. The full 2009 schedule is: April 11 and 12, June 20 and 21, Aug. 8 and 9, Oct. 10 and 11, and Dec. 12 and 13. |
