This will be the first time that both teams will test at Palm Beach International Raceway. Morgan Lucas, Top Fuel driver and team owner, will be racing the GEICO/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster at the PRO Winter Warmup. Lucas had finished seventh in the 2012 season and was top qualifier four times, a career-best mark. Lucas will be joined by teammate, Brandon Bernstein, who will be racing the MAVTV/Lucas Oil Racing Top Fuel dragster. Bernstein claimed fifth place last season.

As of recent, Chad Head has assumed full ownership of the team Head Racing. Chad will now drive the Head Racing Funny car in the January testing at the PRO Winter Warmup.

In addition to Morgan Lucas Racing and Head Racing, other professional drag racing teams already committed to the event include: LATEST: Morgan Lucas and Brandon Bernstein of Morgan Lucas Racing. Chad Head of Head Racing. John Force, the 15 time NHRA Funny Car champion and his daughter Courtney Force, who went on to be named the 2012 “Rookie of the Year” after racing against her father for the first time ever at the PRO Winter Warmup in January, 2012. Also in the staging lanes will be Tony Schumacher, a 7 time NHRA Top Fuel Champion and son of racing legend and team owner, Don Schumacher. Reigning 2012 Top Fuel Champion, Antron Brown and 2012 Funny Car Champion Jack Beckman will both make a return to PBIR. Other drivers participating include John Force Racing’s teammates Robert Hight and Mike Neff, Don Schumacher Racing’s drivers Ron Capps, Matt Hagan and Johnny Gray, Kalitta Motorsports drivers Doug Kalitta, Dave Grubnic, Del Worsham and Alexis DeJoria. Additional elite drivers include Bob Tasca III, Cruz Pedregon, Terry McMillen and Bob Vandergriff Jr.

The two-night event will feature side-by-side runs and a shootout between the two quickest Top Fuel Dragsters and two quickest Funny Cars.
