BENNETT AUTO SUPPLY 31st ANNUAL CITRUS NATIONALS RACE RESULTS

Jupiter, Fla. (November 26, 2012) After a holiday weekend of heated and competitive drag racing, the 31^st Annual Bennett Auto Supply Citrus Nationals came to a close for the last major drag race of the year held at Palm Beach International Raceway until the Pro Winter Warmup kicks of the season January 18 & 19, 2013. Hundreds of racers competed throughout the weekend, many of whom have attended every single Citrus Nationals since its inception, including Gary Byrd from Pembrooke Pines, Fla. racing his ’02 Mullis Dragster and has made the event a family tradition.

In the winners’ circle the Pro Mod Champion who came out on top was Tommy Daprile from Port Charlotte, Fla. with his ’63 Corvette running a 4.052 at 188 mph in the final rounds. Runner up was Chip King from Semora, NC with his ’69 Daytona running a close 4.116 at 183 mph. Top speed of the weekend was John Hall from Coral Springs, Fla. in his 1963 Corvette at 193 mph.

Box Champion was Bill Pollard from Lake Worth, Fla. driving a ’03 Cavalier running a 8.443 at 161 mph. Box runner up was local David Hoxie, Jr. from Jupiter Farms, Fla. driving ’02 Worthy dragster at 7.542 at 176 mph. No Box Champion was Doug Parlamento also from Lake Worth, Fla. driving a ’90 Camaro at 11.951 at 107 mph. No Box Runner Up was Casey Miles from Boca Raton, Fla. in his Camaro running a 13.176 at 106 mph.

Street Bike Champion was Seth Buccieri from Davie, Fla. on his ’02 Busa running a 9.083 at 144 mph. Runner up was local Randy Mackail from Jupiter, Fla. on his ’92 Harley running a 10.529 at 127 mph.

Super Comp Champion was Robert Owens from Title Sponsor of the Citrus Nationals, Bennett Auto Supply. Owens took the first place podium finish running an 8.891 at 168 mph. Runner Up was Jeremy Preston from West Palm Beach, Fla. running an 8.880 at 168.28 mph.

Super Gas Champion was Mick Rice from Naples, Fla. finishing at a time of 9.903 at 151 mph, while his Runner Up was Sergio Santovenia from Boca Raton, Fla. running a 9.884 at 146 mph.

Super Street Champion was Steve Dweck from Hollywood, Fla. in his ’70 Camaro running a 10.956 at 133 mph. Super Street Runner Up was Sal Domico from West Palm Beach, Fla. in his ’69 Camaro running a 10.940 at 133 mph.
